As far as the tools along the top here goes, we are gonna be spending some time digging into more details to some of these tools.But others don't need a lot of cross examination. And that's also completely customizable as well. So we have a regular grid, we can set that width and heigth of our sales to anything we want and we also have an isometric grid. So choose whatever you need for your project there, and we have the option to activate a grid. So, we have Pixels as the default option, but we can also choose from Millimeters, Centimeters, Inches, Picas and Points. In these document settings here, we can also control what type of unit we're using. But what I can do is just select from any of these predefined dimensions and now I can zoom back in again using control on the scroll wheel or I can just hit this button here to fit my documents to the page and now I have a fixed size document. So if I want to zoom out, I can hit control, then I can scroll my mouse wheel and no matter how far I go, there's no edge to my canvas. If you don't any objects like so, just click on the canvas for example, deselect everything, that's how you get access to your document and page settings. We're gonna go through what all of these different sections on the right hand side do also later on in the course. So over here, I'm seeing all of the different things that I can change to control the presentation of this shape. So right now, I have this shape selected that I just dragged into the design. On the right hand side, this is where you have context-specific information relative to whatever shape you have currently selected. Then you also have symbols, which is an area where you can create your own library of reusable assets and we'll talk more about those later as well.

Again, these are all provided free of charge by Gravit, and you can use these however you like. You have libraries which are some additional graphics that are provided that you can just drag and drop into your designs. We're gonna go into what pages are a little bit later. On the left hand side here, you've got pages.

Along the top bar here, you've got all of the different tools that you're gonna be using. But other than that if you are a sketch user, you'll probably find this layout fairly familiar. So you've got your basic file menu along the top here, that's really standard for just about any software. So now I'm just gonna go with the dark thing and then save changes. That's just gonna let you simulate the environment that your graphics are gonna be used in so you should get the best visual representation of how they're gonna look once they deploy. I recommend using the dark theme if you're gonna be creating graphics that are going to have a fairly dark background around them and a light theme if you're gonna have graphics that will be put onto a light background. So, I prefer to go with neutral colors, which you can do by going up to edit settings and then choosing either a dark theme or a light theme. And because color is relative, having purple next to another color can change the way you actually perceive that color. We have this purple theme by default that's called Gravish, but there is also a light theme and a dark theme. And the first thing I personally like to do when I open up Gravit to use it is change the theme. So, for now, we're just gonna cover the basic sections in this UI as well as some of the key settings for Gravit. We're gonna save detail until later in the subsequent lessons. In this lesson, we're just gonna have a quick overview of the interface.
